Itinerary: subject to change or shuffling activities around as needed due to weather or other reasons.
Day 1: Arrive to LaPaz International Airport and transfer to hotel. Alternatively, you can fly into Los Cabos International Airport and will then need to shuttle 2.5 hrs up to LaPaz. Welcome dinner at 6pm.
Day 2: Depart on our 2 night/3 day kayaking excursion! Transfer from your hotel in La Paz to Espiritu Santo Island in our high speed motor boat. Guides discuss points on safety and provide beginners with the basics of sea kayaking and correct use of gear and kayaks. In the afternoon we embark on our first paddle beneath spectacular volcanic cliffs and arrive at our first beautiful beach to set up camp. Accommodation & Transportation.
Day 3: Continue in our kayaks exploring new sections of coastline with small off shore islands. We will have the opportunity to snorkel and explore. Enjoy sunset on the beach and if luck is on our side, we will get to witness the awe inspiring beauty of bioluminescence on the shoreline.
Day 4: We will take a boat ride out to an exquisite off shore islet which is home to a large sea lion colony. Here you can experience the amazing thrill of swimming with sea lion pups and snorkel amongst tropical fish. Lunch back at camp and then pack up and return to LaPaz by mid afternoon.
Day 5: Free morning to explore nearby museums, shop the malecon or enjoy some R&R at our rooftop pool soaking up the glorious sun. Later that day we will meet for an in-depth foodie and street art tour where we will sample authentic street food and learn about the multicultural legacy of the history of La Paz. We will visit and taste a wide range of foods including tacos, desserts, local candies, bread, traditional drinks and ingredients at very local spots that hold a cultural heritage. While walking the historical district of downtown La Paz, we will hear stories of how these gastronomic delights were created, learn recipes and we will even have the opportunity to paint part of an in-process street mural! Before dinner there is an optional activity of quad pedal karts to cruise the malecon before a dinner - a super fun and silly must do activity when in La Paz!
Day 6: An early morning departure will have us arriving in LaVentana for our full day ocean safari searching for tens of thousands of mobula ray fevers and other large marine life! This is an adventure tour and the majority of our time will be spent in the boat scouring the Sea of Cortez and hopefully interacting with big marine life. We will use drone technology to guide the day and will also have an opportunity to snorkel some of the nearby reefs as well. We will be on a private tour and our guides will tailor our day to our groups’ priorities.
Day 7: We will depart bright and early this morning to arrive at Balandra Bay just as it opens. This will give us a lovely time at the beach before the beach gets too hot during the mid-afternoon heat peak of the day. You will have the opportunity to hike, rent a kayak, wade in the shallow waters or relax on the beach. We will head back to our hotel around noon where you will have another free afternoon to enjoy relaxing, shopping and/or exploring the city. There will be an optional sunset sand dune boarding opportunity for those interested.
Day 8: We will head back down to La Ventana and out on another ocean safari! Surely between our two safaris we will have a spectacular encounter of some sort. Regardless of what marine life shows up, this area is stunning & we can always take advantage of the remote, deserted beaches. We will join together for our special over the water farewell dinner.
Day 9: Breakfast & Departure. After breakfast we will say goodbye as we all head onto our next adventure or to the airport to go back home.
